FROM SAN JOSE & POINTS SOUTH:
- Come up either 680 North or 880 North to the Calaveras Road exit and turn right (East) towards the hills. Calaveras Road starts out at six lanes and tapers down to 2 by the time it starts into the hills.

Once you leave the flats, you’ll start up a little canyon. In about 1/2 mile, Downing Road will intersect from the left. There's also a park sign that's a fake rock at the corner.

Follow Downing Road about 1/4 mile and it will dead end at the park entrance and toll booth. After you leave the booth, go straight.
- You’ll go up a 40-foot rise and level off. At this point, you’ll see a small lake on your right.
- For Merlin Flight School Students: As you pass the lake, turn into the first (paved) parking lot. We meet at the far end of this lot. If you miss this lot, next you will see a small dirt lot on your left. We try to keep this lot free for pilots loading up to go up to the various launches. If you miss both lots, the road will continue around and dead end at the far side of the lake.
FROM OAKLAND & NORTH:
- Take 880 South to the Calaveras Road exit and turn left (East).
- Follow the rest of the instructions above.
FROM SAN FRANCISCO & THE PENINSULA:
- Take 101 South to the Moffett Field exit. At the south end of Moffett Field, take the Hwy 237 exit. This will automatically head you East across the South end of the Bay.
- As you approach 880, watch carefully for the Calaveras Road exit. It will meander under the overpasses and keep heading you East towards the hills. Follow the rest of the instructions above.
